Luggage

Send the suitcase. Travel with a day bag.

Hong Kong's courier network will do the heavy carrying for you: hand a suitcase to S.F. Express at the airport and it follows you to your hotel the same day, have a bag collected from your door and checked in for your flight, or send a case across the city with Yamato's TA-Q-BIN. This page explains the local services and how to ship a bag home when the trip ends.

How door-to-door sending works here

The pattern is the same whichever carrier you use: you book, hand the bag over at a counter or have it collected from your door, and the bag travels under a waybill you can track while you travel light. Hong Kong's version is unusually joined up, because the same company, S.F. Express, runs the airport's baggage counter, the delivery services built around it, and the delivery leg of the Airport Express bundle, while Yamato's TA-Q-BIN covers ordinary door-to-door sending between addresses in the city. Keep documents, medicines and one night's essentials with you, and give the carrier a delivery address that can receive the bag, a hotel with a confirmed reservation in the airport cases below.

S.F. Express: the airport services

Arriving: drop your bag at the Baggage Storage and Delivery Counter in Arrival Hall A, on the Arrivals Level (L5) of the airport, and S.F. Express delivers it door to door across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, excluding Lantau Island apart from Tung Chung, Ma Wan, Discovery Bay, the outlying islands and restricted areas. The day runs in three waves: drop by 07:30 for delivery by 14:00, by 11:30 for 17:30, or by 15:30 for 22:00; later drops go the next day and storage is charged meanwhile. Hotel delivery needs a confirmed reservation, and each bag must be within 30 kg, with its three sides totalling no more than 199 cm and its longest side no more than 170 cm.

Departing: the same counter works in reverse, and further. S.F. Express will collect a bag from your home, hotel or office and hold it at the airport counter for you to pick up, and, for passengers on the participating airlines listed by the airport, its Home Baggage Check-in service collects the bag door to door and checks it in for your flight, at HK$370 for the first bag and HK$180 for each additional bag, the airport's own published fee. Book online in advance; for home check-in, collection runs from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm and the last collection is five hours before departure.

The Airport Express bundle

From 29 September to 30 November 2026, the MTR sells an Airport Express bundle at the Airport Station customer service centres in Buffer Hall A and Arrivals Hall A, open 08:00 to 17:45: you buy the train ticket and the baggage delivery together, drop the bag at the counter, ride into the city empty-handed, and the bag is delivered to your hotel or home, with the delivery provided by S.F. Express. Each bag must carry a valid airline baggage tag or a valid travel document, must not exceed 30 kg or 199 cm in total, and hotel delivery needs your reservation details. It is a dated promotion, so check the MTR page before counting on it.

Yamato TA-Q-BIN: sending within Hong Kong

For a bag that simply needs to cross the city, from one hotel or address to another, Yamato Logistics (HK) runs TA-Q-BIN in Hong Kong, the black cat door-to-door parcel service familiar from Japan: a suitcase travels as a parcel. Local pick-up can be requested through the form on Yamato's Hong Kong site, re-delivery can be arranged there too, and the TA-Q-BIN hotline is (852) 2829-2222. It is the natural choice for hotel-to-hotel moves that do not touch the airport.

Shipping a bag home

When the trip ends and the suitcase is full of shopping, the same thinking works internationally. Send My Bag ships suitcases, boxes and sports equipment door to door across more than 80 countries, collected from your home, hotel, university or workplace and tracked from collection to delivery, with an instant quote and your choice of collection date booked online, so the flight home can be taken with hand luggage only. Full disclosure: we have applied to join Send My Bag's affiliate programme, and while that application is pending this is a plain link and we earn nothing from it.
