About this event
The Government gazetted list for 2027 on gov.hk lists Lunar New Year's Day on Saturday 6 February 2027, the third day of Lunar New Year on Monday 8 February and the fourth day on Tuesday 9 February. Because the second day, 7 February, falls on a Sunday in 2027, the fourth day is designated as a general holiday in substitution, as the gov.hk notice explains. Many family run shops close for part of the period while flower markets, temples and festive events draw large crowds.
